The stage is set for another thrilling chapter in Philippine football. Three-time defending champions Kaya FC–Iloilo begin their bid for a fourth consecutive crown tomorrow at 4:00 PM, opening the season against Philippine Army FC at Rizal Memorial Stadium.

What’s New This Season?

The 2025/26 PFL season introduces an exciting new format, taking inspiration from the K League 1. Here’s how it works:

Double Round-Robin: All 11 teams will face each other twice.
Split Phase: After that, the league breaks out into two groups for the decisive run-in:
- Championship Group – The top six teams go head-to-head, where every point brings them closer to the title.
- Classification Group – The remaining five teams battle for pride and their final rankings.

In this final stage, the Championship Group becomes a high-stakes sprint to the finish—the best taking on the best week after week, with every point critical in the battle for the league trophy.

This Season’s Challengers

The 2025/26 PFL season will feature 11 teams, a mix of established contenders and familiar names back in the fold:

Returning Clubs: Kaya FC–Iloilo, Manila Digger FC, One Taguig FC, Dynamic Herb Cebu FC, Stallion Laguna FC, Maharlika Taguig, Aguilas FC–Umak FC, and Valenzuela PB–Mendiola FC.
Back in Action: DB Garelli FC, Tuloy FC, and Philippine Army FC make their return after a season’s hiatus.
