Founded in 2019, Kaya FC-Iloilo Women began its journey in the 7’s Football League, gradually carving out a name in the local scene. What started as a bold step into the women’s game soon grew into a legacy of dominance as the team went on to capture five consecutive 7’s titles—an achievement that spoke to their relentless growth and winning mentality.
In 2022, Kaya embraced a new challenge, stepping onto the full 11-a-side stage while making its international debut at the SingaCup Women’s Football Championship in Singapore. Rising to the occasion, the team delivered a flawless campaign, sweeping every opponent—including Singapore’s Lion City Sailors Women, Thailand’s Phranakorn FC, and Indonesia’s Persib Putri Bandung—to lift the trophy on their very first attempt.
A year later, history beckoned again. Returning to the PFF Women’s League for the 2023 season, Kaya navigated a revamped format featuring a knockout stage and reached the final. There, they edged Manila Digger with a decisive strike to claim the championship—becoming the first professional club to lift the league trophy after years of collegiate dominance.
In 2024, Kaya proudly carried the Philippine flag in the inaugural AFC Women’s Champions League. Facing some of Asia’s best, they fought valiantly, earning draws against Thailand’s College of Asian Scholars and Iran’s Bam Khatoon FC before bowing to Australia’s Melbourne City. Though they did not advance, their participation marked a milestone for Philippine women’s football and set the stage for even greater ambitions.
Then came 2025—a season destined to be remembered. In a dramatic title race that went down to the final day, every match leading up to it felt like do-or-die. Kaya Women delivered when it mattered most. From Joyce Onrubia’s last-gasp equalizer against Capital1, to Julissa Cisneros’ clutch header against Stallion Laguna, and Lyka Cuenco’s stunning stoppage-time winner against Makati FC—three matches, three late goals, and one unforgettable championship run. Under immense pressure, the team rose to the occasion and clinched back-to-back PFF Women’s League titles, cementing their status as the standard-bearers of women’s club football in the Philippines.
A story still being written—one goal, one season, one dream at a time.
