“The last time we played here was last year in November. It’s been almost a year,” said Kaya FC–Iloilo head coach Noel Marcaida, ahead of his side’s return to the Iloilo Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon to face Philippine Air Force.

“We got an opportunity to play in Iloilo and we’re grateful that Air Force agreed to play here. We’re expecting a good game because, we’re playing a team whose players are mostly Ilonggo, so I’m sure they’ll be giving their all,” he added.

Fresh from a painful defeat to rivals Ceres Negros, Kaya are eager to put on an impressive display in front of a home crowd who last saw the team win a nailbiting semifinal in the 2018 Copa Paulino Alcantara.

“There’s pressure on us to perform,” said Barotac Nuevo-born Iloilo captain Jovin Bedic. “We just came from a loss against Ceres, but we’re here in Iloilo to give a good performance for the fans. We’re very happy to be here.”

“For us, we came here wanting to perform and to give an opportunity for the Ilonggos to enjoy the football in the Philippines Football League. We want to show the best of our ability. We want to show quality football,” added Marcaida.

Kickoff between Kaya FC–Iloilo and Philippine Air Force is slated at 3:30PM, with tickets available at the gate. The match will also be streamed live over PFLTV.ph.
