Kaya FC-Iloilo is thrilled to announce the latest addition to the roster: Patrick Arthur. The Ghanaian midfielder’s arrival brings further depth to Kaya’s rotation, and bolsters the foreign talent to a squad that already boasts the likes of Daizo Horikoshi (Japan), Robert Lopez Mendy (Senegal), Carlyle Mitchell (Trinidad and Tobago), and Ryo Fujii (Japan).

“It feels so great to join Kaya FC-Iloilo,” he stated. “My expectation is to help the team win medals, and also qualify and compete in the AFC Champions League next year. Kaya has a great history as one of the biggest clubs in the Philippines. I look forward to adding to that history.”

Standing at 6’1”, Patrick’s size and physicality lend themselves to him controlling the middle of the pitch and being a physical factor in aerial battles. In build-up play, he uses his vision and range to handle and navigate pressure well.

Hailing from Accra, Ghana, Arthur started his football career with Heart of Lions FC before joining Dreams FC from 2018 to 2020. During that time, he enjoyed a loan spell with Swedish side Ängelholms FF. Most recently, he played in Tunisia for Stade Tunisien in 2021 before making his way to Asia this year.

In a message to the fans, Kaya’s new midfielder expressed what they can expect to see from him for the rest of the Copa and going forward.

“To boss the midfield, bring stability, and try to help the team achieve our ambitions for the season.”
