Louis Clark Makes it Three Consecutive Hat-tricks in Kaya Victory

British winger Louis Clark notched an incredible third consecutive hat-trick for Kaya, keeping the club atop of Group B.

“Well we scored goals which is always nice. It was a little bit better football particularly in the final third. We found different ways to score from crosses, which was particularly pleasing. The effort and the intensity were there despite having to play games very close together, and we’re relatively injury free,” said a happy Adam Reekie after the match, who chose to highlight the team’s efforts rather than Clark’s standout performance. “It’s very hard to pick out anybody. Louis seems to have gotten lots of press for his goals, but without people supplying him or people winning the ball back for him [it wouldn’t be possible]. So no [nobody stands out in particular], it’s a great team effort, the team is the biggest star.”

Kaya scored all of their goals in the first half, with Chris Greatwich joining Clark’s scoring spree. It took the 24-year-old just seven minutes to open the scoring with a brilliant header, and Team Socceroo never found a way back into the game. The result meant Kaya went top of Group B with 9 points, a win ahead of Global who also won against Laos 1-0 earlier in the day. Socceroo remain with just a single point in three outings, two less than Laos who have played a game less.

“It’s great, obviously the service that I’m getting – I’ve got to hand it to the other guys, the balls into the box, the passes that I’m getting, I’m just trying to do my best,” said Clark after the game. “Today there were three great balls in the box and I was just lucky to be at the end of them I suppose. We’ve been working hard since day one in camp. We’ve been working torwards these three games and we’re going to be ready to go for these next games.”
