Statement on Richard Greer’s departure

Kaya Futbol Club would like to announce the departure of Richard Greer. He joined Kaya in January 2014, and his final appearance for the club was on April 19 against Loyola Meralco Sparks.

Upon his arrival, he already demonstrated the qualities that made him fit to play for Kaya—not just in terms of experience and knowledge, but also the passion and hunger that represents a Kaya player. On and off the pitch, he presented a commendable attitude toward the game and everyone involved with the club. During his time at the club, he never failed to embody our “Never say die” attitude, and we watched him emerge as a bona fide Kaya player. He always kept his feet on the ground and knew the right way to play the game.

With his professionalism and commitment, he eventually became a part of the academy as a coach. He distinguished himself as a player who is passionate about youth development, and he grabbed the opportunity to pass down his knowledge to his students without any hesitation, but with utmost enthusiasm and dedication. Well loved by both students and their parents, he will surely be missed, but his influence on his students will forever be remembered.

The Kaya midfielder admits that it was not an easy decision to leave the club:

The decision wasn’t an easy one to make, but at this time, it is a decision that is best for myself and, in my opinion, the club. I can honestly say that this club has been the best club I have played for in terms of it feeling like a family. That comes back to the people within the club, from the management, the staff, and the squad we have. Una Kaya!

Everyone at Kaya respects his decision, and we wish him all the success that he genuinely deserves. He is leaving the club with our sincerest gratitude and will always be welcome here.
