Kaya FC-Iloilo put up a staggering fifteen goals on an undermanned Stallion Laguna FC side, adding significantly to the team’s goal difference and hopes of securing the top seed heading into the knockout stage.

Khryss Dacanay started in between the sticks for Kaya, supported by a backline of Marigen Ariel, Mea Bernal, Mary Lam, and Mae Sullano. Irish Navaja, Hazel Lustan, Bhebe Lemoran, Nicole Ramores, and Kyra Dimaandal comprised the midfield; while Shelah Cadag led the way up top.

It was Shelah who struck the first blow in the 16th minute, pouncing on a bad touch from the Stallion backline on Mea Bernal’s lob pass. Taking a touch with her right foot to avoid the defender to her left, the striker placed her strike cleanly in the bottom right corner. (0-1)

The lead was doubled on an 18th minute own goal, caused by a scorching run up the right flank by Kyra Dimaandal. Nearing the endline and just inside the penalty area, the forward fired a low cross into the box that was deflected into the back of the net. (0-2) *Deadly Cross

Hazel Lustan scored Kaya’s third of the day, producing a poacher’s finish in the 22nd minute. Bernal’s diagonal ball found Dimaandal up the right side for a powerful shot, one that was deflected perfectly into the path of #10. (0-3) *Cleanup Duty, CLAYGO

The fourth goal came in spectacular fashion off of a 25th minute short corner from Cadag to Lustan. Hazel surveyed the box and picked out Mae Sullano at the far post with a high cross. The right back planted her left leg and fired a volley from an incredibly tight angle—looping the ball over the keeper and into the opposite side netting. (0-4) *Sharp Volley, Insane Volley

Kaya reached the five goal mark in the 34th minute courtesy of Mea Bernal, the defender having come forward for an earlier set piece. The ball was played out to Irish Navaja on the left, who sent an early through pass into the danger area. The ball took a slight deflection on its way into the box, but no one was going to stop Bernal from burying it into the bottom right corner. (0-5) *Extra Frontman, Backline Finisher, Does It All

Shelah notched her second goal of the day just a minute later after chasing down a long pass from Bhebe Lemoran inside the penalty area.  Sensing danger behind her, she took a clever tap touch with her left to cut towards her right. The ball still bouncing, the striker curled her half-volley straight into the top left corner. (0-6)

Cadag found herself as the assist lady for Kaya’s next goal, feeding Nicole Ramores at the edge of the six-yard box. The sequence started in the 37th minute with a Navaja cross from the left being popped into the air, which was then corralled by Shelah who laid it off to Estong for the easy finish. (0-7) *Two Piece, Another Day, Another Brace, Double Down,

Unable to separate herself from the action for long, Cadag came for her hat trick in the 42nd minute. With Bhebe Lemoran dribbling right at the Stallion backline, the striker timed her run between her defenders expertly—receiving a clean through ball before firing a cleaner shot into the back of the net. (0-8)

Shelah came back just two minutes later to secure her haul, tallying a total of four goals on the day. Marigen Ariel pushed all the way up the left flank, danced along the endline into the penalty area before passing inside to the lurking forward for a first-time, lefty strike that flew just under the crossbar and in. (0-9)

Kaya scored their tenth right before the halftime whistle blew, this time from the penalty spot following a handball. Marching her way up from the opposite box, Khryss Dacanay went from shot-stopper to goal-scorer as she bested her fellow goalkeeper on the spot kick. (0-10)

Irish Navaja etched her name on the scoresheet in the 53rd minute. The winger met Hali Long’s early cross into the box but the initial attempt went wayward towards a defender—and before anyone else could react, Irish got to the rebound and buried it from close-range. (0-11)

Iloilo’s unrelenting barrage continued in the 58th minute, with Bhebe Lemoran orchestrating the goal that would be their 12th. With the Stallion backline in disarray, she circulated the ball to Ryannie Dahildahil on the left side of the box for a clean left strike into the right side netting. (0-12)

Fresh off the bench, Zhyrelle Belluga found the back of the net in the 75th minute. Crashing the six-yard box from her position on the right flank, she received Lemoran’s endline through ball for a gentle tap in. (0-13)

Marigen Ariel joined in on the goal-scoring fun, attempting a strike from just under 30 yards out in the 86th minute. The left-back’s first time shot flew true, going over the keeper and under the crossbar and in. (0-14)

Not one to be out done, Nicole Ramores secured her brace in the 89th minute in similar fashion. After receiving a short pass from Suettie Simoy in roughly the same spot as Ghen’s earlier attempt, she too went for the top right corner on a distance shot for Kaya’s 15th and final goal of the day. (0-5)

Coach Marigen Ariel cleared the bench and exhausted all her available substitutions:

  • Hali Long and Inna Palacios entered the game at halftime, replacing Mary Lam and Khryss Dacanay.
  • Suettie Simoy, Cesca Crespo, and Ryannie Dahilidahil checked in for Mea Berna, Hazel Lustan,l and Irish Navaja in the 55th minute.
  • Analou Amita relieved the prolific Shelah Cadag in the 65th minute.
  • Zhyrelle Belluga checked into the game for Mae Sullano in the 74th minute.

No Kaya players made their way into the referee’s book in this match.

For their last match of the PFF Women’s Cup group stage, they take on Azzuri FC next Saturday, December 3 at the PFF National Football Center.
