Manila, Philippines — Kaya FC-Iloilo put on a show this afternoon: a five-star performance that featured five goals from five different goalscorers.

Daizo Horikoshi continued his tour de force, notching the opener in the 16th minute. The ball worked its way to the middle from the right flank, ending up with Milad Behgandom atop the penalty area. As the defense converged on the forward, he turned and found Daizo in space—who picked out the bottom right corner with a clean finish. (1-0)

When Dylan Nobiraki pushes forward from his deep central position, good things tend to happen. Case in point: his goal in the 44th minute after his combination with Jhan Melliza turned into a broken play in front of goal. Dylan followed up the action and may or may not have taken a deflection, but the ball found the back of the net all the same. (2-0)

The goal parade continued in the second half, starting with Melliza’s 49th minute penalty. Mar Diano sent in a through pass to JhanJhan who was making a dangerous run between the lines, but was taken to the ground when his boot was grabbed from behind. He took the spot kick himself, using enough power to force the ball past the keeper’s glove and in at the bottom right corner. (3-0)

Eric Giganto was determined to get in on the scoring action; fearlessly shooting until he finally succeeded in the 68th minute. Daizo broke past his man up the left side of the box before sending in a perfectly weighted cross to his fellow winger. With the time and space he needed, Eric struck true on his off-foot volley to bring the tally up to four. (4-0)

Not to be outdone by his older brother, Tamon Horikoshi came off the bench and inked his name on the scoresheet as well. Jarvey Gayoso showed some great hustle late in the game, tackling a defender before sending in a low cross into the six yard box. Coming in from the right flank like a bullet, Horikoshi slid for the first-time finish in the 82nd minute. (5-0)

In control of the match from beginning to end, Kaya put their creativity in possession on full display to the Manila-based fans. This makes it back-to-back wins for Iloilo, who are steadily building momentum for next week’s away game against Stallion Laguna FC.
